Core Values
Caring: Caring is to show concern and compassion for others; look after patients and their families and co-workers. BHH Team Members care deeply and it shows in their work, attitudes and actions every day in every way.
Compassion: Compassion is the understanding or empathy for the suffering of others. Compassion is the emotion that we feel in response to the suffering of others that motivates a desire to help.
As a BHH Team Member, you will be expected to show genuine compassion and empathy to our patients and their families. This compassion and caring will extend to co-workers and the entire BHH family.
Respect: Respect can be defined as consideration for self and of others. Respect includes consideration for other people's privacy, their physical space and belongings; and respect for different viewpoints, philosophies, physical ability, beliefs and personality.
Respect is both given and received. We expect other people to respect us in return for the respect we show them. This includes our patients and their families, physicians and each other.
Respect cannot be measured as a quantity. It cannot be bought or traded. It is one of those things that is earned and built over time.
Teamwork: Teamwork is working in harmony. It is working in collaboration with staff, physicians, patients and their families and all departments in order to achieve our goals.
Teamwork is a crucial part of BHH and it is necessary for everyone to work well together, trying their utmost best in every circumstance.
Teamwork means that you will cooperate, using your individual skills and provide constructive feedback, despite any personal conflicts you may have.
Behavior I Attitude: Even if you are having a bad day, as a BHH Team Member, a positive, upbeat and "can do" attitude is expected while at work.
Fiscal Responsibility: BHH Team Members are committed to managing all aspects of their departments and their positions in a fiscally responsible way assuring the overall fiscal 'health' of the hospital to the best of their ability. This includes staffing, supplies and other expenses.
