Message from our Chief Nurse Executive

Welcome. My name is Carol Stiltner and I’m the Chief Nurse Executive for Bakersfield Heart Hospital.

Bakersfield Heart Hospital is all about providing care and advocating for patients; and we, as a community, will create a culture that inspires the achievement of superior outcomes through a shared vision, professional excellence, interdisciplinary leadership and collaboration.

My objective is to create the image of Heart Hospital nurses and staff as one that people will admire. That’s why we’re accredited in both Chest Pain and Heart Failure Accreditation. That’s why we were the first in the county to create a Structural Heart program. We never stop improving here.

Above all else, we are committed to delivering healthcare, as it should be: patient-centered and for the good of all people, no matter their circumstance. To achieve this, we must be active; we must be kind. We must work with integrity, share our skills and never stop learning.

Exceptional care requires respect for our patients, families and colleagues. From honoring patient cultures and developing accessible leaders to providing many ways to share your input and recognize excellence, we’re committed to being an inclusive, respectful place that values our talented, diverse colleagues.

I invite you to come experience Heart’s collaborative culture and world-class hospital for yourself. Whether you’re just starting your career, moving to a new city, or learning a new discipline, there’s a place for you at Bakersfield Heart Hospital.
